Beverley Callard left I’m A Celebrity fans baffled after she appeared to tuck into a Scotch egg despite branding herself a vegan.
The 63-year-old Coronation Street star has been able to swerve some of the nastier eating challenges on the ITV show because she turned to veganism in March.
However, some viewers have expressed their doubts about the star’s dietary requirements after they spotted her allegedly tucking into several non-vegan meals.
On the latest show, the cast were treated to a treat of Scotch eggs after they managed to win a Bushtucker Trial and answer the question correctly.
This evening, eagle-eyed fans spotted yet another moment during which Beverley appeared to shrug off her vegan diet to munch on a tasty snack.
Although it is unclear whether Beverley was given a vegan alternative, the actress can be seen munching on a treat alongside her co-stars.
A representative for ITV has been contacted for comment on the topic.
It came shortly after Jordan North and Ruthie Henshall opted to go for Scotch eggs instead of mini eggs – much to the dismay of the rest of the camp.
Although they argued that the Scotch eggs were more ‘substantial’ snacks, the contestants may have also forgotten about some of their camp mate’s food requirements.
A typical Scotch egg usually consists of a hard boiled egg wrapped in pork sausage meat and then dipped in bread crumbs.
Fans were quick to pick up on the blunder, and took to social media to point out that Beverley may very well have been bending the rules.
“The UK watching Bev eating her scotch egg after telling the nation she’s vegan…” wrote on viewer.
Another added: “Bev eating a scotch egg after being a vegan since March #ImACeleb.”
Beverley’s latest rumored vegan blunder came shortly after she faced a Bushtucker trial during which she had to eat vomit fruit and fermented tofu while her camp mates were forced to eat gruesome animal body parts like deer testicles.
